In Finland, the majority of new jobs are created by SMEs. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy and cover the majority of Finland's business sector. Qred is a bank for small businesses and has helped tens of thousands of small businesses to grow their business with flexible financing since 2015.
Entrepreneurship and small businesses deserve more place in the spotlight and research.
That's why we established the Qred Scholarship for researching entrepreneurship and businesses.
Who can get a scholarship?
Qred's Scholarship aims to promote entrepreneurial knowledge and innovation in small businesses.
Qred's Scholarship will be given to a thesis about entrepreneurship or a topic that aims to promote the position of small businesses.
The Scholarship is given to a person who has a research question that stands out from the crowd and is reseraching a previously unexplored issue or approaches a previously studied issue from a different perspective.

Scholarship value: €1,000
2022: The previou Scholarship was awarded to Tuomas Tahvonen from Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences. Tuomas' thesis deals with market megatrends and transformations from the perspective of a small entrepreneur.
Search and criteria
In order to apply for a Qredi scholarship, you must be writing a thesis on entrepreneurship or companies at a Finnish university.

General terms
- The recipient of the scholarship is appointed by a jury, all of whose members work for Qred. The jury's verdict is final and not appealable.
- The value of the scholarship is 1,000 euros and the full amount is paid at once.
- In order to ensure the legitimacy of the applicants, the recipients of the scholarship will also be subject to identity checks. When applying for a scholarship, you agree that Qred will conduct this inspection.
- Any tax will be paid by the recipient of the scholarship.
- APPLICATION DEADLINE: In order to qualify and win a Qred Scholarship, you must apply within the specified application deadline. The application period is from 19 October to 17 December 2023.
- APPLICATION: In order to be suitable as an applicant and to win a Qredi scholarship, the application must be complete and contain all the required information (see section 4.2). "Search and criteria").
- APPLICANT: Qred processes personal data in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and other applicable data protection legislation. By sharing this information with Qred, I agree that Qred will process my personal data. For more information on the processing of personal data, please see Qred's Privacy Policy.
